The way we communicate has changed and keeps changing.

We used to get our information from TV, radio or newspaper. Now? The majority of people in the the USA, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the majority of countries in Latin America and Africa are social first.

My work began in traditional public relations two decades ago but curiosity led me to join Twitter in 2007. I have worked in digital through the many changes in trends, platforms, and algorithms. I understand the fundamentals of communications, which are even more critical in the over crowded information spaces we live in, but I'm also highly skilled at using today's tools.

I pivoted into digital because I was curious how this new thing would change advocacy and political communications and that curiosity still serves me. My favorite part of this work is learning something new every day.

Who Am I?

A long time ago, I moved to Washington DC to change the world.

I worked on the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. I also worked for a US Senator. Before and after these jobs, I consulted for giant non-profits, medium-sized non-profits and very small non-profits, helping them with their communications strategy and social media.

Then, I took a break.

I was a digital nomad well before there was Zoom. I traveled and lived in Latin America, working on my Spanish. I began freelance consulting, focusing on helping organizations with their digital and social media. I learned about and worked with clients using the latest tools - everything from Meta to Substack, from TikTok to Talkwalker and from X to Google Analytics. I also learned about other cultures - everything from food to customs to language.

Both experiences have been transformative.

This is the short version. Long version here.
